Cosmesur Beautyworld Buenos Aires 2009 attracted more than 120 companies and 38,000 visitors
Amazing shows, contests, competitions and several special events
Once again, Cosmesur Beautyworld Buenos Aires has been the most important event of the beauty, cosmetics, aesthetics, hairdressing and toiletries industry. The fair had 121 participating companies of the sector that exhibited their most recent innovations in terms of products and services and the newest treatments for the beauty industry.
The 15,000 square meters the fair had were divided in sectors by product groups in order to ease the visit of more than 38,000 national and international visitors that attended the fair. Cosmesur Beautyworld Buenos Aires Manager, Mr. Ezequiel Gorbarán, was very pleased with the results achieved and said: "The companies trusted in Cosmesur Beautyworld Buenos Aires 2009 to be the great shop window to present their products. This is undoubtedly the key to remain and not going unnoticed in critical times. On the other hand, visitors have accompanied us, thus confirming once again that this is the best event for updating regarding the sector offer and new trends.”
Simultaneously to Cosmesur Beautyworld Buenos Aires 2009, there were several special events that gave prestige to the three-day fair.
On Saturday and Sunday, the 4th International Matchmaking Program of Cosmetics organized by Indexport Messe Frankfurt and Fundación Export.Ar took place. There were in total 130 meetings among 30 local companies that took part in the event and 7 foreign companies coming from Bolivia, Chile, United Arab Emirates, Guatemala and Peru.
The 3rd Argentine Contest of Sculpted Nails also took place and was centered in nail decoration: natural or sculpted. During the competition, the participants were cheered by a great number of professionals that paid close attention to their techniques. Creation was free and several materials such as color acrylics, strass, feathers and other relief elements were used. The winner was
Judith Rodríguez.
The Argentine Federation of Hairdressers and Related Associations (FAPYA) organized the
49th National Contest of Hairstyle and Color for Women and the 4th National Contest of Hairstyle and Color for
Men. There were participants from all parts of the country and a national champion of year for each of the categories was elected. The awarded professionals were
Jorge Luis Cruz and Sergio Fernández, respectively. An alert and critical audience attended the competition and enjoyed this great show of hairdressing in which
Yanina Olima was also elected as FAPYA Queen 2009/10.
At the same time, Intercoiffure Argentina, a prestigious organization that gathers the greatest women hairdressers of the world and whose headquarters are in Paris, offered several demos carried out by the most renown Argentine and worldwide hairdressers. The presidents of Intercoiffure Chile and Intercoiffure Brazil were present, among others.
There was also a new edition of Copa Nueva Generación organized by Alta Capacitación Profesional (ACP); Heburn, Dr. Duval and Exel. The traditional demo of techniques and skills on masotherapy and makeup had two main activities. The
Makeup Contest, which had four different categories: Brides and 15 years; Party and Evening Makeup, Body Painting and FX Special Effects; and the
Masotherapy Contest in which masotherapist's appearance, his/her posture, aesthetics in development, uniform and constant rhythm in the massage, contact harmony and technique quality were assessed. Besides, ACP Academic Director, Mrs. Elsa Álvarez, gave a workshop in Teatro Abierto.
On the fair first day, the director of Pont Ledesma Make Up Studio, Juan Manual Pont
Ledesma, dazzled the audience with a fantastic show in which 10 models paraded with superb dresses and showed different makeup trends. The audience enjoyed this parade and gave a loud applause to congratulate on the quality and outstanding work of the makeup artist.
Nuevo Mega Las Margaritas and BABYLISS-PRO presented the prestigious hairdresser
Oscar Colombo, who gave a show in which he taught techniques and methods that set the trend in the current hairdressing activity. It was a moment really appreciated by professionals that could discover some of the greatest secrets given by one of the undisputed referents of national and international hairdressing.
Finally, in Espacio Beauty, some exhibitors gave different workshops related to aesthetics and beauty such as: Use of pulsed light; Makeup alternative show; Radiofrequency - IPL; An innovative system to sculpt and make acrylic and gel nails; The color of light and accessories in makeup; Theory and demo of corrective or therapeutic makeup and Intensive treatment for stretch marks; among others.
